Anyone know which ingredient in Clorets Pure gum that kills the bacteria? The packaging mentioned Neutra Fresh but what are the ingredients of Neutra Fresh (what chemical compound makes Neutra Fresh?).

In mouth wash, the ingredient that kills the bacteria is cetylpyridinium chloride but I don't see this listed for Clorets Pure gum. I see maltitol, erythritol, xylitol, acesulfame etc in the ingredient list but cannot figure out which ingredient is the one that kills the bacteria. Anyone knows?

Some background and general info Clorets Pure gum:

It's the Xylitol. But it does it in a round about way. Bacteria eat and grow from consuming sugar, but Xylitol is a kind of sugar that they can't eat so they starve. Not actively "killing" the bacteria per se, just not helping them to grow.

Depriving bacteria of food will not be as good as killing the bacteria outright. This means if I have a cookie or ice cream and I chewed Clorets Pure, I will still have bacteria in my mouth as the bacteria can live off the sugar from the cookie or ice cream.

I thought Clorets Pure would be a good alternative to Listerine Strips if Clorets Pure were to kill the bacteria instead of depriving them of food. It looks like I cannot use Clorets Pure, if I need to kill bacteria in the mouth, I would have to use Listerine strips, Cepacol or Strepsils etc. apart from a mouth wash.
