... thanks for posting this, flutterby ...

... near the beginning of an eight-month stay in jail i was put in a small solitary cell on the very top floor of vancouver pretrial jail which was referred to by the other prisoners as the "penthouse." right away i became anxious and claustrophobic and had an extreme panic attack so i asked to be put on drugs to calm me down. i stayed on those drugs for the duration of my eight months in jail and it did help considerably. however, i do believe that heavy drug usage like that is not healthy for your mind or body ...

Well its fine if you ask for somehing but the reality is you don't have a choice. They drug you against your will so that you are easier to 'manage.'. They do this in senior's homes and, obviously, the psyche ward. My experience there is they make you take a sleeping pill, even when you don't have a sleeping problem.

The article is about the wide spread use of S eroq uel, which is a dangerous anti psychotic, as a sleeping pill. They made me take hat sh*t at the psyche ward and guess what? I couldnt breathe. Turns out that is one of its many side effects. When i gasped at the idiot overnight guy at the front desk, he told me i could have some Ativan for the anxiety of not being able to breathe. VGH.
